Yarn Profile of artificial grass

Blade profile refers to the shape of the yarn extruded to make each artificial grass blade

A number of blades of different shapes are grouped together and looped into clusters through the substrate material. Rows of grass are made into artificial grass.

When looking at yarn profiles, the most important blades are those that form the body of the grass. The most common high blade in the product.

Blade shapes fall into two different types - flat and structural. There is usually also a curly thatch yarn in the product, but this will be a flat profile that has been mechanically altered. A flat blade profile means - the blade is just a flat plastic extrusion. However, structured leaf profiles have many different shapes, and they are usually represented by a single letter -- for example, "C" shaped blades have a "C" length, "W" shaped blades have a "W" shape, and so on.

Blade profile is very important for durability, feel and longevity of your artificial grass. The structured blade profile creates a denser sensory product with better vertical memory and ultimately better withstands long-term wear and tear. Its importance can be seen in the example of a piece of paper; If you take a long, thin piece of paper and hold it vertically with one hand, it will fall off. If you give the structure of the paper, such as folding in the middle or bending into a "C" shape, you give the paper the ability to support itself.

Do your own test by drawing a flat product sample next to a structured product sample under your door or under your desk for a few weeks and you'll see the benefits.

How to compare yarn profiles side by side

First, take a cluster from each of the grass products you want to compare. A tuft of grass consists of a number of independent yarn ends (blades) grouped together by latex backing and backing to form clusters, thus giving the appearance of two tufts of grass. To do this, you will need to press a blade on the grass center of the grass back, as shown below, and gently pry loose the latex back plexus from it. Then use your fingers to pull it out of your back. This should be easy to do.

Looking at this cluster of yarns, you can see that they are made from a combination of different types of yarns. In most good products, there will be a combination of flat, structured and textured thatch blade profiles. A better product will generally have a more structured blade profile and less flattening.
