How to install artificial grass edging
Installing edging is only part of the overall installation process for artificial grass.
It is usually done early in the process, after the ground has been dug and prepared, and before the subbase has been laid.
There are 3 main steps to installing edging for artificial grass:
Step 1: Set the Marker on the Ground
You can use the specific folder type to choose your specific folder type.
However, the most popular method is to use note. This is used for curved boards, eco-friendly and composite plastics.
First drop your border. For curves and cuteness, it helps to have someone help you.
If you're using a board, allow two inches for bends at the hinges, and if you're using 1/2 piece (or 1), to allow for bending and warping due to temperature changes.
Hit the stake with the hammer down, away from the very top, and the wood will pass through the stake and into the boundary, then hold it in place.
We recommend placing 1 stake every 4-5 feet or every 120-150 cm.
For bends, you may need to mount the stakes a little closer according to your tips. We install 2 stakes at the joint, one on each stake.
Fix the boundary, backfill and compress the surrounding environment or material. Your edging on the outside continues to provide additional support after this.
Step 2: Mowing the Artificial Grass
After laying the artificial turf and taking care of the seams throughout the yard, it's time to mow the outermost edges of the artificial turf.
For this, we recommend a simple utility knife or utility knife. Work along the perimeter, cutting down and using the edge as a guide against the protruding end of the knife.
For best results, change the blade regularly to ensure a clean, sharp cut.
Step 3: Secure the artificial grass around the perimeter
The method you use to secure artificial grass around the perimeter will depend on the type of edging you use.
No matter which method you use, we recommend buying carpet baseboards. This will help keep your artificial grass taut and flat, preventing any creases and wrinkles on the surface.
