Artificial grass is so common in our lives that it has gradually infiltrated our lives without us realizing it, and its use is widespread. The market for artificial turf is uneven and there are many different types. We may not be able to tell the difference between good and bad artificial grass in terms of appearance, and how to choose artificial grass is a concern for many customers. So, how should we choose a quality artificial grass?

Artificial Grass Filaments

Polyethylene (PE) is cost-effective and widely accepted by the public. Polypropylene (PP) contains hard grass fibres and is commonly used for tennis courts and playgrounds. These two are the basic raw materials for the production of artificial grass. The most important meltblown fabric in recent masks is made of PP, and both PP and PE are safe. Generally speaking, PP straw filaments are generally harder and PE ones are softer and closer to the texture of real grass.

Artificial Grass Backing

Wool composite woven fabric has excellent adhesion to glue and grass filaments, good corrosion resistance, easy to firm and moderately priced; choosing the bottom of materials such as lattice fibre and glass fibre helps to increase the strength of the artificial turf bottom and the bonding power of the grass filaments.

Artificial Grass Glue

SBR latex has good function, low cost, good water solubility, green glue and black glue in colour. Polyurethane (PU) adhesives, which are several times stronger and more binding than Phenyl Butyl Latex, are durable, colourful, non-corrosive, mould-free and environmentally friendly, but are more expensive. Artificial turf and glue are inseparable and if the glue is not up to scratch, there may be curling around the artificial turf which will greatly affect the aesthetics of the lawn and the life of the artificial turf. It is therefore very important to choose a high quality adhesive.
